Make Pasta with Your Kitchen Aid

By Samantha Asher

It is very easy to go to the store and pick up a box of pasta noodles or spaghetti. It is even easier to pour them into a pot of boiling water and cook for a few minutes. Why mess with something that is already so simple and easy? Pasta is fast, it is easy, and it is delicious.

How would you feel if I told you how to make pasta even cheaper and tastier? Would you believe that it could be done? It's so cheap and delicious already, how could you improve upon that?

Now go to the store and find the cheapest pasta in the aisle. You could get it pretty cheap, but it wouldn't be anything spectacular. Now look for a box of the best tasting pasta available. Sure, it tastes great, but you're paying for that delicious flavor. What I'm getting at is that price most often has a lot to do with taste. The good news is that I have a way to make pasta that tastes great for less money, but just a little bit more of your time.

What I am suggesting is that you make your own pasta. What? Make my own pasta, you ask? Yes. Making pasta is not common for the average person. I bet many of you might not even have a clue how it's done. Making pasta has many advantages.

Fresh is the way to go if you want to best tasting foods, and the same goes for pasta. You can't get a boxed pasta that tastes as good as great, freshly made pasta. It's a great way to impress friends and family at dinners and parties. You can use it as a fun project for the kids to do with you or a project to do on a cozy, Sunday afternoon. You will save money in the long run. Even if it's just a few bucks each month, the fun that comes with it is invaluable.

You can make your pasta either by hand such as with a rolling pin, or you can use a pasta maker. Doing it completely by hand is best saved for those who will make pasta no more than once or twice a year. If you're going to do it more than that, a good pasta maker will be invaluable.

Still, it makes it a lot more difficult and time consuming. If you are going to make pasta more often, at least a couple times a year, you should get a pasta maker. It takes away a lot of the difficult tasks.

If you have a Kitchen Aid mixer, and if you don't you really should get one, pick up the pasta maker attachment. It will be much cheaper than a separate pasta maker, and will be much better quality. Also, it will take up much less space in your kitchen. And as with any Kitchen Aid product, you will get the quality and performance. Make your own fresh, tasty, and homemade pasta as soon as you get your new attachment!
