Augmentation of the Breasts in Houston

By Andrew W John

There are many reasons why a woman might be interested in breast augmentation. Many women who contemplate this surgery do so because of breasts that are different sizes or shaped in a way that they don't like. Perhaps her breasts have been something that she has always felt insecure about, and she feels that by having the augmentation done that she will be more confident. Many women who get breast augmentation are survivors of breast cancer, which will sometimes necessitate the removal of tissue. Breast augmentation is a voluntary surgery that many women undergo, and the results, both for the patient's appearance and her emotional outlook, can be impressive.

One of the first things to think about when considering breast augmentation is what shape the woman would like the implants to be. In today's modern world we have moved on a great deal from the standard silicone implants which were used years ago. The implants available today work out a little more costly but due to the fact that they are taller than they are wide, the fullness they have gives a much more overall natural appearance.

As well as this a woman needs to think about which type of the three available incisions she prefers. The inframammary crease is where the implant is inserted where the breast meets the lower chest. The insert is approximately an inch and a half long, and barely visible due to its location. The periareloar incision is at the point where the skin changes from nipple to breast. A pocket is formed to house the implant underneath the muscle. The axillary incision is under the armpit and the implant goes either above or below the muscle. The distance between the place where the implant is to go and the armpit, sometimes makes this type of incision a little more difficult.

You will also need consider the size of the implants and the results that you want. In this area, it is very important to be honest about what you want. Are you after a more symmetrical, sleek look, or are you looking for something more curvy? There are a wide variety of shapes when it comes to implants and sizes as well, and you'll find that different women will "wear" the same implants differently. Make sure you know what your own goals are.

Remember that if you are interested in breast augmentation that you will need to discuss all of these things and many more with your surgeon. There are many excellent practices in Houston, Texas, and you'll find that with a little bit of searching, you should be able to find exactly what you need.
