Benefits of Wearing a Sauna Suit

By Gerald Beatty

Why do people use sauna suits? Some people like them because they're so efficient at ridding your body of excess water weight. As well, it helps to eliminate toxic substances from your system. It can be worn while working out at the gym or in more intense athletics like wrestling or boxing. They're also the ideal outdoor gear for winter activities.

Sauna suits trap body heat. When you work out wearing a sauna suit, you'll sweat more than you normally would. The excessive perspiration leads to temporary weight loss because you're losing your water stores. Some people think they'll lose a lot of weight by wearing a sauna suit regularly. But keep in mind that it will only help you lose water weight, not fat.

It's important to drink lots of water when you work out in a sauna suit because it's easy to become dehydrated.

A sauna suit can also be used as part of a body wrap treatment. This treatment is greatly enhanced by the heat trapping capabilities of a sauna suit. And you can minimize the mess that results from common body wrap ingredients such as mud and clay.

Another excellent use for sauna suits is for staying warm. A sauna suit is also good for outdoor activities in cold weather since it holds in your body heat. They improve your circulation and keep your muscles warm due to their heat trapping effect.

Certain sauna suits are made from vinyl because it's highly durable and is suitable for most contact sports. With aggressive activities such as boxing or wrestling, there's very little chance of the suit taking any damage.

Nylon sweat suits are less expensive. They're a good choice if you plan on doing intense exercise because you won't sweat excessively. Good sauna suits made of nylon will have a light rubber coating on the inside to protect them from wear and tear.

Sauna suits are amazingly cheap. They start at around $10, although some can be as expensive as $100. Many sauna suits come in only a couple of sizes, either small-medium or large-extra large. Watch out for unisex suits because they are frequently too large for small women.

The reason for a sauna suit is to make you perspire more heavily by trapping heat near to your body. Therefore you need to look for features that will keep heat in effectively. Jackets should have a drawstring that you can tie at the waist. Pants should have elastic at the waist and ankles. There should be elastic on the cuffs of the jacket. As well, the zippers should be sturdy and impervious to rust.

It's important to clean and dry your sauna suit after each use. The combination of heat and perspiration is a breeding ground for bacteria. Rinse your suit thoroughly with warm water and the recommended cleaner, and hang to dry.
