Diet For IBS - Because You Are Not A Hypochondriac

By Julieanne van Zyl

A Diet for IBS is the most well known way to treat Irritable bowel syndrome. IBS is a functional bowel disorder characterized by abdominal pain ( quite often serious) and shifts in bowel habits. If you are one of the number individuals who get these signs of illness or problem, you will not want to be called a hypochondriac as some latest news items have claimed.

Many work absences are caused from this illness and it can also affect an individual's ability to be involved in any sporting or social activities. This is a very painful, shaming and uncomfortable thing to have. Of course, before you try out things to soothe your symptoms, check with your doctor to assist sure you do not have IBS and not some other illness.

In regards to the supreme Diet there are utterly a few different schools of thought. Here is one that may assist you. Stop all dairy foods, sugary foods and yeast ( found in bread and other foods that come from the bakery). Yeast is in beer along with some other alcoholic drinks. Eat lots of green fruit and vegetables. Lean meat, chicken and fish is okay to eat also.

To make sure you have lots of green foods, the following drink will assist you. Make this for yourself in a blender. From the fruit and vegetable market, buy every green fruit, salad and vegetable you can find. For example:

celery, parsley, baby spinach, broccoli,

avocado, zucchini, kiwi fruit, bok choy,

A little fresh pineapple will help it taste sweeter. Throw it all in the blender, and if there are too many dry foods in the blender just add a small amount bit of water. This drink should help your digestive system if you drink it once or twice a day.

For a number of years this is the Diet that I used, and if I spent the day drinking and eating the above ( and not eating the stuff I shouldn't eat), my day was great.

Nevertheless, it was not much fun making green drinks for myself as you can imagine and not being able to eat all the things I wanted to eat especially if I went out to dinner. However, if I did eat the wrong thing when going out to dinner, I would have a very uncomfortable time and would need to excuse myself to go to the toilet or to go lie down in the car.

To relieve symptoms of IBS many folks find that a good quality nutritional supplement like Mangosteen juice helps them. Perhaps it's because the digestive system needs more of a specific nutrient or is not getting that nutrient. Some folks find that when taking a dietary supplement, they don't have any discomfort at all.

In Asian countries for many years, the most commonly used treatment was mangosteen for health concerns such as diarrhea, inflammation, parasites, wounds, skin infections, pain and burns and so on. So, eating the mangosteen fruit or taking a mangosteen supplement can alleviate your discomfort and pain of IBS.

If a high quality nutritional supplement is what you choose to take, it is recommended that you take it for around a month and give your body a chance to catch up on all the nutrients it needs. Your body might need longer than a month if you've had IBS symptoms for a long time.

Medicines usually work pretty quick (if they are going to work). However, they don't last like natural remedies such as supplements because with the right nutrients, your body is getting what it needs. So, taking a nutrition supplement can solve the inconvenience and embarrassment when you go out to dinner.
