This a short list of the movies released this year (2008). These are some of the movies I enjoyed watching this year. Hopefully you will see a couple of movies that are worth watching.
WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS: It was a wild night in Las Vegas. Barely remembering what had happened, Jack and Joy get up the next day and find out that they are married. When they win a $3 million jackpot, the question is who should get the money, so they ask a judge for a decision. The judge decides that they must stay together for six months, and try to make their marriage work. With lots of money at stake, they conspire to make each other quit the marriage, as they are both determined to have the cash for themselves.
PINEAPPLE EXPRESS: Complete stoner Dale in a stroke of bad luck, has seen a bad police officer, and a powerful drug dealer, murder someone. He was spotted, and they know he has seen the murder. Realizing this, he unwittingly throws down his joint, a unique version called pineapple express, and runs. This joint is such a unique type of weed, that the bad guys can track it. The game is on, Dale and his pot dealer friend Saul are on the run.
HAMLET 2: Dana Marshz, formerly a small time actor, now finds himself teaching high school theatre to uninterested students. When the high school loses a major building, the school board figures the after curriculum will be what is dropped. Now fully motivated, he sets out to keep the school from dropping his classes by producing Hamlet 2, a new version of the classic, which he put to paper himself.
JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH: On a mission to discover what happened to his lost brother, a science professor goes on a mission that puts him on a journey to the center of earth. This a remake of the original 1959 movie, which was about the classic work by renowned author Jules Verne. This sci-fi adventure stars Brendan Fraser, and Anita Briem.
WANTED: Wesley, an office worker going nowhere in life, learns that his long lost father is a contract killer. When his father is killed, Wesley is basically forced into the organization that his dad was a member of. He is transformed from a nobody office worker into the professional killer that he was meant to be. From there, things get extremely complicated. Hang on to your seat.
STEP BROTHERS: When two child like older men, who each live with their single parents, find themselves having to live in the same bedroom because their parents have wed, we see that they are bound to have problems. Casting John Reilly and Will Ferrell playing the parts, and this has the makings for a very fun film. This seems like a sure thing for a good time this year.
MADAGASCAR: ESCAPE 2 AFRICA: As the title suggests, this the sequel to the big hit film Madagascar. The four animal heroes, Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, and Gloria the Hippo are attempting to leave Madagascar, and go back to the zoo in New York, which is the only home they know. As opposed to going home, with the Penguins leading them astray, they are heading off to Africa instead.
THE INCREDIBLE HULK: This feature film tells a story about Scientist Dr. Bruce Banner, who has been transformed into the Hulk. This movie tells of the marvel comic character the green Hulk. Edward Norton, Tim Roth, William hurt, all have roles in this film. This film is directed by Louis Leterrier. This movie would be classified as a science fiction film.
BOLT: Bolt: This film is an animated family comedy. Bolt is a dog actor, who in his TV show, is a super hero dog. The thing about Bolt is that he is convinced he has these powers. When, by chance, he is finds himself in a real world situation, he discovers that he is just a dog. Now, trying to get back home, he is helped by Rhino and Mittens, his newly found hamster and cat friends.
Many people will buy films when the come out on DVD, so they can see them in the comfort of their living rooms. A more recent method for getting films is by using down loading technologies off websites. There are websites that with a membership, you can download virtually any movie ever made.
