Port Isaac Cottages

By Jane Richardson Pete Lennon

Port Isaac should be one of the places you visit whilst in the UK. The beauty of the area is reason enough but if you want to experience the character of an unspoiled 18th and 19th century fishing village, Port Isaac is very welcoming.

The ambiance of the area will transport you back to the time when the Port Isaac harbour was a busy port and imported goods arrived via ship.

Regardless of the time of year this is the perfect place to visit when you are on vacation. You will enjoy all aspects of this beautiful and charming area and may want to return soon.

Whether you are seeking a place to relax and unwind or are interested in the history of Port Isaac, you will find both here. Walks along the coast of this amazing area will be just what you need to revitalize yourself with the sea air.

The centre of the village is a step back in time to an era gone by when the North Cornish coast was a hub of activity with ships coming and going.

The cottages that are home to the people of this area are picturesque white washed cottages, just as they were many years ago. The old cottages have withstood the test of time as they climb the sharply sloping hillsides.

With the rich history of fishing in this area, there are fishermen who continue to carry on the tradition of their ancestors. Every day they are there fishing and trapping the lobster and crab that are indigenous to this area.

The area is so relaxing you may decide to extend your vacation. Sitting in the pubs that are steeped in the atmosphere of the area, it is easy to leave behind the fast-paced world from which you came. Play golf at one of the courses within a couple of miles from Port Isaac. There are some of the most beautiful beaches to enjoy. Many people go sailing and waterskiing when visiting the area.

A Cornish Holiday Cottage owned by Adam Godfrey is available to rent all year round. This holiday home is situated in Trelights just less than a mile outside Port Isaac. It has three double bedrooms and all the amenities you would expect. There is a secluded garden and parking for three cars. Call 01208 863 634 (landline) or 07854 222 671 (mobile) to book this lovely Port Isaac Cotttage.
