It seems to be a never ending cycle of looking for a cure and thinking you are found an acne cure however being disappointed all over again.

The biggest problem is that people do not give the acne treatments enough time to see the result then switching from one product to another. Generally it can take up to three months for an acne treatment to cure your adult acne and you may even realize that your acne appears to be getting worse before it begins to get better. Failure to follow the acne treatment instructions is another common problem. Using acne medication too much can be just as much of a problem because not using it enough and leading your skin to become irritated.

Most of the time, the main problem may not be the acne treatment. People depend solely on the acne medication to cure their adult acne while in fact other lifestyle changes are needed. In fact, medicinal acne treatments are not even required whenever you find that something else in your life is triggering the acne.

Most people do not think in terms of what is the cause of adult acne in the first place however only concentrating on treating the existing acne. You must first determine what is the cause in order to cure it for good. Researches have proven that acne is triggered by excessive sebum production. With this proven, it is up to you and possibly your dermatologist to determine exactly what cause your body to develop excess sebum.

Other than the acne medication, you have to see how you take care for your skin. You must always wash your face well at least twice each day and stop wearing makeup which only serves to clog your pores even more. Drink plenty of water, exercise at least three times a week and eat fresh vegetables and fruits. Many people do not know that exercise relieves stress and helps remove toxins from the body through sweat. Both toxins and stress contribute to the cause of acne which is why exercising regularly can actually be an acne cure for you.

Furthermore you must keep your hair and hands off your face. Hands and hair contain oils which contribute to acne. Squeezing or popping acne pimples is another problem because it spreads the bacteria and often causes scarring as well.

You may have a food allergy that is causing your adult acne outbreak. In this case, you need to consult an allergy specialist to determine what foods you are allergic to and eliminating those foods from your diet will cure your acne in most cases. Many people do not know that they have food allergies and the only symptom that there is an allergy is an acne breakout!

Making simple lifestyle changes can be the best acne treatment available and you may be enjoyably surprised at the results especially considering how small the changes are. You should also increase your intake of vitamins A and E since both of the vitamins promote healthy skin. You can take supplements or eat foods that are rich with one or both of these vitamins. This small lifestyle change can also help to prevent or cure adult acne.

However if making these small lifestyle changes and using over-the-counter acne treatments does not cure your acne, it may be necessary for you to consult a dermatologist to determine which type of treatment will work for you. There are many different acne treatments available in the market which has proven to be effective acne cures. Even though the acne treatments that recommended by your dermatologist can be expensive however they are usually well worth the cost. Make sure that you give some time for the acne treatment to work and follow the instructions of your dermatologist for use of the acne medication.
