Buying A Cheap Flat Iron

By Marissa Donato

Do cheap flat irons even exist? You know that saying that goes something like "You get what you pay for". Well, this saying definitely includes flat iron purchases. If you purchase a cheap flat iron than you are taking a risk with your hair. That risk may lead to fried hair from heat damage, loss of color and breakage. Your hair can also appear unhealthy.

Let's face it, you probably don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on purchasing a flat iron. I know this because you were looking for "cheap flat irons" and this article caught your attention because you assumed I was going to say "buy this $300.00 flat iron for only $20.00". I'm sorry to disappoint you. I do not have $300.00 flat irons available for $20.00, nor will I recommend a site where you can buy an expensive flat iron for just a few dollars because they are most likely counterfeit; but that's another article for another time. Right now you are interested in purchasing a cheap flat iron.

You can purchase a quality flat iron for under $100.00 which is very affordable for every budget. For those of you that are new to the world of flat irons, this may seem expensive but it is actually a very reasonable price; especially when some flat irons can cost as much as $300.00.

BaByliss has a flat iron called the Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium Ultra thin, that is top notch. Seriously, should you consider buying a hundred dollar flat iron then you should place this iron at the top of your list for irons to consider. It is slim and sleek in design, has adjustable temperature settings and flash heating. It can also style your hair with curls, flips and added volume. One of the best things about purchasing this flat iron is the decent manufacturer warranty. It has a 4 year warranty which is pretty darn good.

Solia has several flat iron models that all sell for under $100.00. In fact, you can purchase several of their models at about the $80.00-$90.00 range. Solia has a great reputation for making long lasting flat irons that give you more bang for your buck. You can achieve smooth and silky hair results easily with this iron. Solia designs their products to distribute heat evenly on tourmaline plates which eliminates hot spots that can frye your hair otherwise. Many consumers swear by their Solia and refuse to use another after receiving such amazing results.

Another flat iron that gets props for producing smooth pin-straight styles is FHI flat irons. Celebrity stylists love this flat iron because it heats up quickly and delivers professional results. The only drawbacks about this iron is that it doesn't allow for curling or flipping hair styles since the plates are rectangular in shape. It also does not allow for temperature adjustment but instead it offers a fixed heat of 410 degrees.
