The Evergrowing Popularity Of Women's Sandals

By Kim Hodges

Sandals are popular with women throughout the year regardless of season. With the many pros they offer as footwear, they can be worn in many different situations. These two reasons have combined to give ladies a huge reason to fall in love with them.

They were first made as casual footwear, but sandals now boast a wide array of different designs. This has led to something for everyone. The requisite casual sandals are still a mainstay of the product line, but designs for high end fashion and sex appeal have also been created.

A key reason why sandals are well loved by women is that they are the one shoe type that fits just about any outfit worn. Ladies always fret over the perfect combination of dress, accessories and shoes when dolling up for any occasion. Even formal situations have the right sandals available.

There are also different types of hybrid sandals that have been made in recent years. Instead of a uniform flat heel that used to be the typical design, sandals now come in various heel heights. One of the most popular remains those made with platform heels as they provide a stable base.

Some of the highly popular brands that people choose to look out for are Ellise, Steve Madden, Prada and Jimmy Choo. They are often found in most retail stores and especially in specialized boutique shops. But the likes of Jimmy Choo are higher end and not easily available.

Many women wear sandals as an afterthought such as when they visit the mall or during a gathering with friends. The more conscious would pick a great looking pair when they wear them for formal trips to the office. Again, it illustrates the versatility of footwear that had humble origins.

The use of sandals does not end there. They are also a part of the upper class and are not excluded from being worn to balls and upscale events. The ones used are often the handiwork of famous designers that do not shy away from using jewelry to accessorize the sandals.

Sandals have become as widely used as high heels are. Many women have already replaced the latter with sandals since they are more comfortable yet are comparable in design and look. As more of them opt for convenience, sandals could soon become the overriding choice of footwear for all women.
