Atlanta Physical Therapy

By Kevin Shutters

The chances of getting into a car accident at some point in our lifetimes are roughly 100%, and many of them result in serious injury. If you play sports, the chances of being seriously injured are also quite high. We really do not have control over either of these scenarios and of course nobody wants to get hurt, but the truth of the matter is that sometimes it happens.

Orthopaedic conditions can be some of the most painful of all the ailments. If you have damage in your back, neck, shoulders, or knees it is very difficult to ever feel 100% when the body support system is hurting. Physical therapy has proven itself to be a successful and long lasting tool when treating and healing orthopaedic matters and Emory Healthcare is known for their innovative and successful physical therapy program.

Contrary to what you might expect, injuries in the workplace are actually quite common and come in a variety of types and reasons. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome affects people who do not use the correct posture and form during long hours of computer use. Back problems and fatigue are also common for people with poor posture and who sit for a long period of time. Physical Therapy is a good healing treatment in both of these circumstances.

Joint and soft-tissue injuries are another common cause of pain for millions of Americans but the discomfort can be treated and improved with physical therapy. Sprains and strains are common problems as well as fractures, hand injuries, and dislocations. Many of these problems can all be caused by athletic activity and also can result from surgery on another part of the body.

The reasons that people need physical therapy are just as varied as the treatments that they require. Whether for an injury during a minor routine exercise or something as serious as a car accident, physical therapy holds the promise for a healthier tomorrow by advancing healing as we know it.
