Northern Cities on the Costa Blanca Map

The next time you want to have a holiday in Spain open a map of Costa Blanca. The Mediterranean Region is home to many remarkable choices. Here is a brief list of the cities from North to South that you'll definitely want to visit.

A northerly city on the Costa Blanca map is Denia. This city is gorgeous with its view of the mountains and its seascape. There are numerous water sports with splendid beaches. The city of Denia is not strictly a vacation destination. Nonetheless, you'll get a taste of authentic Spanish life while you holiday here. Stay a while and discover attractions like the Castle of Denia, the Toy Museum and go shopping at the Calle de Marques de Campo.

With four kilometers of coastline that is filled with quiet beaches and coves, Denia offers a fully secluded seaside, accessible only by climbing over small cliffs. Here is rich in Spanish history with old churches, hospitals, and homes of past nobility to view. When staying here, have a taste of octopus stew, a specialty of the area. That together with the numerous rice dishes and local wines will satisfy your culinary needs.

When you drive round the bend in the highway on the Costablanca, you're struck by Altea's large blue dome of the Nuestra Senora del Consuelo church. This is a landmark of the city of Altea. Here they have maintained the appearance of an older Spanish village as opposed to a tourist town. You'll marvel at the Spanish mountain ranges and with them some of the most spectacular vistas. Don't forget your camera. Now, get ready for five kilometers of seaside with lush velvety white sand on the Mediterranean coastline.

Southern Cities on the Costa Blanca Map

The city called Villajoyosa, and it's a little north of Benidorm. This city is noted as a quieter vacation spot. Villajoyosa is world famous for chocolate production. The Valor chocolate brand is well liked throughout Europe. Villajoyosa is located on the shoreline; the older part of this city features brightly colored homes and buildings. It's Royal Palm Casino is a popular tourist destination. During the last week of July, the Festival of the Moors and Christians is annually celebrated. If you're there at that time, you'll see parades, hear music, and see a reenactment of the Moorish army landing on the beach and being defeated.

Alicante and Torrevieja

The vast majority of tourists arrive in Alicante through the Alicante airport. In the Costa Blanca the city of Alicante is one of the best liked in the area. There are numerous attractions such as historic buildings, museums and of course the beaches. Alicante has ample nightlife, public transportation, shopping, and restaurants. Next, you might visit the city of Torrevieja. This is the southernmost city on the Costa Blanca. It claim to fame is salt production. It produces over a half million tons of salt each year. Many believe in the salt baths for healing. Torrevieja also has the museum of sea and salt where you can discover some of the history around the region. There is still a great deal of activity each day and night at the harbor. This is still where fishing is pursued and its daily fish auction in town is well known. You will really enjoy the seafood in the local restaurants because everything is fresh caught. Torrevieja is home to a large Northern European community with services designed to serve them.
